This month we are off to see the show of bluebells in Crackley Woods. We meet at the VARSITY at 12:00 noon, where there should be the usual range of guest beers. BUSES : The Varsity is served by the 12, 16, 43A, 801, UI, U2, U12, U17 & W1C

At 12:30pm we set off to Westwood Heath church and join the path through the fields towards Kenilworth. We soon pass Roughknowles Wood, which is well fenced - off, so it is not worth while entering, but we may well see a good show of bluebells there.

When we get to Crackley Lane we turn right, then left and pass under the old railway bridge. Here we climb the embankment and join the Kenilworth Greenway, what was the one - time Kenilworth to Balsall Common loop line. Here we get the best access to Crackley Woods, where hopefully the bluebells will be in full bloom. From there it is a short walk into Kenilworth for the delights of the ROYAL OAK (GBG), CROSS and VIRGINS & CASTLE.

To return we have options -

1. Anyone who drove to the Varsity will need to get a University bus back.
2. The direct bus along the Kenilworth Road will take us back to Earlsdon and the City Centre.
3. We could always walk back, going the opposite way around Crackley Woods so that we have seen the lot. After all, its not that far.
