This is a slightly longer walk than usual through some beautiful countryside.

We meet at 12:00pm noon at the BEAR in Berkswell and set off at 12:30pm to St Johns church, one of the finest Grade 1 rural churches in the country, with an ancient Norman crypt. From there we walk through the churchyard and cross the Meriden Road to enter Blind Lane. We pass Blind Hall Farm and at Blind Hall Cottage turn left. After the first field the path becomes a track. We cross Back Lane and follow another track, which becomes a field path after the first gate. This leads through a number of fields to the lane in old Meriden, which is also known as Alspath. Here is St Laurence's, on its hilltop setting, thought to have been founded by Godiva, who owned the manor. Down the hill from the church we come to the QUEENS HEAD for rest and refreshment, after an hours walking.

We return to the churchyard and then take the permissive path round Moat House Farm. Through fields we pass the edge of Millisons Wood and then more fields until we turn right and cross a wooden footbridge. We come to the track to St Andrews church after another forty minutes walking. This is a late Victorian church that was built as a group of buildings, including school, vicarage and a stable block for the small but growing hamlet of Eastern Green.

From St Andrews we return to the field path, which leads us to Blind Lane. A short distance west along the lane and we take a track to Hill House. We skirt the farm and turn right to repass Blind Hall Cottage and Blind Hall Farm returning to Berkswell after another forty minutes walk, making 2 hours 30 minutes in total.
