This time we have a country walk on the edge of the old Massey Ferguson factory site, which is now, like most factory sites in Coventry, a housing estate; in this case called Bannerbrook Park. We meet at the BELL in Tile Hill at 12 noon. The No.6 bus leaves Pool Meadow Stand 16 and arrives Tile Hill 11:50am |

The Bell
Setting off past the shops, then left at the traffic lights and past the Tanyard Farm housing estate before entering Floyds Field. |
Through the recreation ground we cross successive fields before rounding a football pitch. Then through three more fields we emerge onto Broad Lane after 45 minutes walking. Here we enter the MASSEY FERGUSON Club for rest and refreshment. |

Massey Ferguson Club |
At 1:45pm we can leave the club and walk down the wide grassy verge of Banner Lane, past Tile Hill Wood on the left before returning to the BELL for about 2:15pm. |
The pub's website says "Just a stone's throw from Torrington Avenue, Tanners Lane and Tile Hill Rail, we're the perfect place to watch the footy with friends or enjoy a bit of banter over your favourite beers." The Bell is one of the "Sizzlers" group and serve good value meals including a Sunday roast for those of you eating. Download their menus and see more at their website. |
