This is believed to be a nickname for the WINDMILL in Styvechale as it was painted white. It is said to have been a favourite meeting place of watchmakers where dancing, coursing and cockfighting took place.

In the 1850 directory this is mistakenly called the WHITE HORSE, Warwick Road.
