This pub got its name from its proximity to Bedlam Lane. It opened in 1936 to serve the new housing development off Hen Lane. However, the unfortunate connotations to the word Bedlam soon prompted a first change of name to the PLUME OF FEATHERS.

17.2.1865 CS Old Tom of Bedlam. All furnishings, fixtures and fittings up for sale. Pub in Bedlam Lane.

HH P28 Opened in 1935 to serve new housing developments off Hen Lane. The mad sounbd of the name led to a first revision to the ' Plume of Feathers '.
