Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. This is an ongoing project so contributions, corrections or additions to this archive, especially anecdotes, photos and media are most welcome. Feel free to contact us for a pint and a chat anytime.

The Open Arms

The name suggests a warm welcome, as in 'welcomed with open arms'.

This pub opened on 30th March 1961 under licensees, Norman and May Stock. It is typical of its time, in 1982 called 'a popular estate pub in a resedential area'. It had a spartan bar and smart lounge which have since been knocked into one large room.

Known Licensees are;
1961 Norman & May Stock
1984 Dave & Pauline Semmens
