I imagine that this is a reference to coaching, the coach horn being the trumpet. In 1756 6 soldiers were billeted here. In 1762 it became a depot for wagons carrying parcels to Northamptonshie, Leicestershire and Derbyshire and in 1774 it was advertised for sale. |
