Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. The Harrow

This is a common sign referring to the contrivance used to break up clods of earth, stir the earth, root up weeds and cover seeds etc., on farmland.

In 1720 this pub was part of a marriage settlement when it was settled by Joseph Ash of Coventry, a beer brewer, on his son Joseph Ash junior and Bridgett Burgess. In 1756 2 soldiers were billeted here.
