Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. The Fountain

In 1850 this pub was used to auction ' sweet iron-bound casks, from 55 to 9 gallons each; iron furnaces and setting, 12 strike mash tub and brewing vessels, brick cooler, 15 feet by 10;...glass, delph and pewter measures, drinking tables and other effects. Presumably this was the equiupment of the licensee, William Farren. This is the only record we have of this pub.
