Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. This is an ongoing project so contributions, corrections or additions to this archive, especially anecdotes, photos and media are most welcome. Feel free to contact us for a pint and a chat anytime.

In the 1861 census there are no matching records. In the 1871 census there are no matching records either, but the Adkins family kept the Bear and Bachus on the Stoney Stanton Road, there is however no Mary in the family. The only other nineteenth century Adkins in the website is Henry Adkins who was at the Dolphin in Cross Cheaping in 1868.
Known Licensees are;
