Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. This is an ongoing project so contributions, corrections or additions to this archive, especially anecdotes, photos and media are most welcome. Feel free to contact us for a pint and a chat anytime.

There are no matching records in the 1841 census, but in 1850 and 1851 James Hadden, 35, is a beerhouse keeper at 77 Palmer Lane. Again there are no records in the 1861 census.

The only other Haddon in the website is Samuel Haddon who was at the Royal in Old Church Road in 1894 and from 1907 to 1909 at the Coventry Cross.

Known Licensees are; 1841 James Hadden
