Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. In the 1841 census there are no matching records. The only adult Arthur Merridew is 30 and a ribbon weaver journeyman in Thomas Street.

There are two Merridews in the website;
William Merridew at the Graziers, Well Street, 1850 - 1851
Harriet Merridew at the Packhorse, Well Street, in 1861
