Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. ADDRESS NEW STREET

In the 1841 census William Humphries is 35 and a publican at i Gosford Street. By 1851 he is 50 and a victualler in New Street. In 1861 there are no matching records.

The website contains the following nineteenth century Humphries;

1866 Thomas Humphies at the Beerhouse, Hall Green
1841 William Humphries at the Queens Head, Gosford Street
1841 John Humphries at the Rising Sun, Spon Street
1850 Thomas Humphries at the Shoulder of Mutton, Old Church Road.

Known Licensees are; 1850 William Humphries
