Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. This is an ongoing project so contributions, corrections or additions to this archive, especially anecdotes, photos and media are most welcome. Feel free to contact us for a pint and a chat anytime.

One unidentified beerhouse. The name is the same as that of the brewer, Peter Walker. More than a coincidence?

There are 35 references to Walkers in the website, non ofthem in Jordan Well. Peter Walker the brewer, from Wrexham, had the Sydenham Palace, which was used as a depot, and the Windmill, 105 Spon Street, which gained the nickname of 'The Wrexham' for a while.

1835 - 1841 Peter Walker
