Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. This is an ongoing project so contributions, corrections or additions to this archive, especially anecdotes, photos and media are most welcome. Feel free to contact us for a pint and a chat anytime.

Beerhouse

ADDRESS 37 FREETH STREET

One unidentified beerhouse here. There were no public houses on Freeth Street, but William Cramp had the Beerhouse at Freeth Street in 1879. Freeth Street ran between Jordan Well and New Street. Is there any possibilty it was on one of these streets ?

The only other Fossey on the website is Edward Fossey who was at the Rose in Well Street in 1874.

Known Licensees are;
1881 Edwin Fossey
