Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. This is recorded as being a public house 1835 to 1965, so it seems to have started as a beerhouse and soon converted to a full public house license.

In the 1841 census George Welch is a publican at the Union Arms and continues so until 1871.
