Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. THIS BECAME DRUM AND MONKEY
Just one entry here. In the 1851 census there are no matching records but in 1861 John Faulconbridge is 65, a publican at Hawkes End. His son, also John, is a carpenter. In 1871 John Faulconbridge, 35, is a silk dyer at the Drum and Monkey public house.
