Here is what we think is the only comprehensive record of pubs and beerhouses within the Coventry city boundaries going back as far as available records allow. The Bear and Boy

Goodness knows where this name came from. If other places can have the Eagle and Child, then I suppose Warwickshire can have a Bear and Boy. It is mentioned in 1756 when nine soldiers were billeted here. In 1765 it closed and the premises were sold.
